Welcome to our North America travel blog! Our journey spans across the continent, from our extensive experience in the USA to our latest adventures in Mexico. In the United States, we’ve lived in various places including Kansas, Kentucky, Florida, California, Washington, Oregon and Washington DC, with our military life opening doors to explore diverse corners of the country.
In 2025, we ventured into the rich cultural tapestry of Mexico. After immersing ourselves in the vibrant energy of Mexico City, we moved to the colonial jewel of Guanajuato for a 5-week stay, embracing the slow travel lifestyle to truly experience local life. From our past life in various US states to our current exploration of Mexico’s hidden gems, we share authentic experiences that go beyond the typical tourist trail.
Join us as we document our North American adventures, blending our military-life travels throughout the USA with our current journey through Mexico’s diverse landscapes and cultures. More stories to come as we continue to explore this fascinating corner of the world!

👋 New Here? We’re Jeff and Sandra, American expat and senior nomads, living abroad, on a budget, one country at at time. Most days, we’re just doing what we’ve always done— making ourselves a home, working on projects, cooking, and running errands, wherever home might be at the moment. Sometimes that means checking out local activities and visiting museums and historical sites; other times, it means finding out which local restaurant has the best pizza or empanadas and which grocery store sells peanut butter.
This life isn’t always glamorous; but it’s ours—and we’re here to share with you what we learn.
